An expense I don't need, but I have things that need doing. If I can't get it running by Thursday afternoon, I'll drop the bomb and buy a new freakin' tractor. The 10 sites I went to on the web to look for a manual, all directed me to a phishing site out of Cyprus.

I really would like a manual for this thing, but apparently that's not an option. Tomorrow (hopefully it won't be so brutally hot) I'm thinking I'll take the fuel pump off and dissect it, and see if there's a fine mesh screen that's clogged, or a diaphragm that's got a little rip. The fuel & separate container are absolutely clean, so as not to get any debris in the injector pump. If you by-pass the fuel filter, which I assume is between the primary pump & the injector pump, I suggest you make sure Maybe the fuel pickup tube in the tank has a screen in / on it? Gravity feeding it? No primary pump, no fuel filter? If your primary fuel pump has a filter or screen in it, it may be partially plugged? I just keep coming back to the fuel change? Apparently it ran OK before that? Maybe a separate fuel container, above the injector pump, Problem due to wear & tear would surface in a gradual manner, unless there was a very sudden, heavy load put on it.

I would think that any possible drive train Not very scientific, but it usually works. I always try the easiest & cheapest things first. I hate replacing large expensive bearings, bushings, and gears. I'm tearing the fuel system apart again before I start messing with the PTO. The brush hog blade spins freely after the PTO is disengaged, and the gear case is "room temp" after use. I did bleed the injectors by cracking the treads and got a few tiny bubbles of air, but not enough to cause the issue.
#Deutz 3006 engine download#
No manual for the Deutz, and the only website I found to download it from is a scam phishing site from "Cyprus". Didn't bog down using the plow, but the plow was used before the fresh (bad) fuel was added. It's a canister filter (think oil filter), no way to bypass it. You might take a chance & by pass the filter for a short test run? If you can see an air gap at the top of the filter fuel level, it is likely leaking air at the filter, or at another source. If so, & no problem, then the PTO may be suspect" If any load creates the problem, I would suspect fuel delivery or an air leak, OK, I see, I think? So, the problem only starts after the PTO is engaged? Can you simulate the PTO load, drive wheels, plow, etc?

Maybe the previous owner way over filled it? But why suddenly start acting up after 7 months? I'm still thinking fuel/air issue, but the hydraulic fluid episode in the transfer case has me wondering. No noticeable temp increase in rear end with PTO engaged.

The fuel filter has been replaced twice since the bad fuel swap out. Definitely started after a tank of new but apparently contaminated fuel, which has been purged, and replaced with new certified clean fuel. No, problem starts 15 minutes after I engage the PTO. If a driveline problem, the driveline might smoke, or make noise, or get visably hot? Will it pull to governed top RPM with no load? "Leave PTO disengaged, and release clutch and it runs fine for 30 seconds, then bogs down. Problem started after you put new fuel in it? This is the part that may lead into a driveline problem: I think you said the problem occurs about 30 seconds after you dis-engage the PTO? Maybe something in the clutch mechanism? If it was a clogged injector, it'd be clogged all the time, not just after 15 minutes. So what am I missing? If it was a warped head it'd happen pulling plows (Works harder pulling plows than a brush hog), the PTO spins freely. Fire the engine up, let it idle at low for 1 hour just to get everything through the entire system, engage PTO, everything's fine for 15 minutes, and. Refilled the tank with fresh fuel (checked for water) with a brand spankin' new fuel can, put in cetane booster fuel system cleaner (like seafoam, but a different brand). I drained and dried the tank, got a brand new fuel line and filter (canister fuel filter/water separator), put in a new air filter, drained the fuel pump, and cleaned the sediment out of that. So I figured I had water in the new fuel, and sure enough there was.

Leave PTO disengaged, and release clutch and it runs fine for 30 seconds, then bogs down. Engage the PTO it runs fine for 15 minutes, then bogs down almost to the point of stalling out. Put a fresh tank of off road fuel in it about 2 weeks ago, and now it runs just fine at low/medium idle under no load. It's been working fine since I got it 7 months ago. No, it's not on a boat, but I figured someone here had more air cooled diesel knowledge than myself, or the guy at the local NAPA.
